What to Bring - Bankruptcy

Thank you for letting us help you during this trying time. In order to make the process of preparing and filing a bankruptcy petition easier, please bring copies of the following documents with you to our initial meeting:

  1. Past two years tax returns.
  2. Six most recent payroll stubs (for both you and your spouse).
  3. If you own any real estate (your own home as well as investment property):
    1. Deed to the property;
    2. Most recent mortgage statement to all mortgages placed on the property;
    3. Assessment or tax bill setting forth the property's state equalized value;
    4. Appraisal;
    5. A copy of each recorded mortgage encumbering the property (a copy of the recorded mortgage may be obtained from the register of deeds in the county where the property is located).
  4. If you own or lease a motor vehicle, motorcycle, boat or recreational vehicle:
    1. Copy of the title;
    2. Registration;
    3. Proof of insurance.
  5. Copy of most recent bank statements, as well as statements to all other institutional accounts, such as 401(k), 403(b), mutual funds, stocks, and savings or other bonds.
  6. A complete list of all of your creditors, including the creditor's name, address, account number and balance owed.
  7. Drivers License and Social Security Card.
  8. Go to www.annualcreditreport.com should you need a credit report.
